Inspired by Oman: A Women’s Loungewear Designer’s Love for the Middle East

As a loungewear designer, I’ve always been drawn to the beauty of comfort, elegance, and timeless luxury. But it wasn’t until I found myself captivated by the opulence of  Middle East that my work truly transformed. The region’s remarkable fusion of tradition and artistry has pushed my creativity in new and exciting directions.

My sixth trip to the Middle East and this time to Oman, has been a central figure in this love affair. The country’s natural landscapes, rich culture, and architectural splendor serve as the perfect backdrop for unique designs that merge functionality with beauty.

A Journey of Discovery

Having visited Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar previously, Oman feels like stepping into a world of hidden treasures. The combination of stunning desert landscapes, lush oasis, and rugged mountains was awe-inspiring. But it wasn’t just the scenery that captivated me — it was the way this beauty was reflected in Omani architecture and the quality of life. The intricacy of Islamic architecture, with its geometric patterns and regal domes, juxtaposed with the serene simplicity of traditional Omani design, speaks to a sense of harmony that I found irresistible.

Walking through the old town and Ramadan festivities, I was drawn to the luxurious textures and rich colors. The abundance of detail and intricacy feels like an invitation to indulge in sensory pleasure. It was here that I realized how deeply the Middle Eastern appreciation for opulence can influence my designs.

The Fusion of Comfort and Luxury

As a designer, my goal is always to create clothing that makes women feel confident, elegant, and, most importantly, comfortable. Loungewear, often associated with relaxation and ease, can still carry a sense of sophistication and refinement.

I enjoy flowy silhouettes, intricate patterns, and luxurious details. Even seemingly basic mulberry silk hair scrunchies can be special and make a difference, like the colour and print I picked out for this trip.

A Celebration of Opulence in Everyday Life

Over a decade of making loungewear, I have recently felt like I've hit a standstill. Thankfully, my recent travels have inspired me to reimagine loungewear again — seeing ways to infuse a sense of luxury and opulence into everyday life. Whether it's a cozy silk robe, a pair of plush cashmere joggers, or a flowy kaftan for an afternoon of relaxation, my designs aim to make every moment feel like an indulgence.

In the same way that the Middle East holds space for both grand palaces and intimate desert retreats, my loungewear pieces offer a way to embrace life’s most precious moments with grace and ease. Inspired by the beauty of Oman and the Middle East, our collection celebrates luxury, comfort, and a life well-lived — because every woman deserves to feel like royalty, even when lounging in the comfort of her own home.
