I've had this maternity shoot concept in my mind for some time,
but the opportunity hadn't come up, until I saw on Instagram that Cheryl was pregnant.
I wrote to her, and she was receptive to the styling I planned!
More importantly, she accepted our invitation to grace the intimate shoot, none of us whom she actually worked with before, so I'm really thankful :)
The biggest scale we've worked on so far, you can imagine the planning and logistics headaches! Honestly, this shoot wouldn't have been possible at all without the kind support of our amazing friendors, credits at the end of post.
This series has 3 stylings, all pretty different and each so beautiful.
A rich garden on the couch featuring vibrant blooms in autumn hues, and fresh vines.
The second set, two never-been-done-before flatlays with flowers and fruits.
Artistically styled by Alicia of
Pout and Chow, the flatlays took her hours of adjustments and perfection.
The first flatlay features deep red roses and avocados, kiwis, onions and eucalyptus leaves.
The second flatlay features pretty pink roses, gerberas, oranges, grapefruits and lots of berries! Oh I love.
And finally, the last set of the three, a luxurious milk bath!
Not just any ordinary milk bath though.
Botanical lovers like us,
Hello from Flour again went crazy with the overflowing greens.
Love this alternative look from the commonly used flowers in milk baths.
Little white blooms accentuate the greens.
I picked our
Ever After Lace Robe to clothe Cheryl in the water, as it's lightweight, delicate and photographs beautifully.
The talented husband-wife duo of
Hello from Flour also created an arrangement with anemones and a bunch of other blooms (whose names I'll never remember).
This became our most-liked photo on Instagram!
Ending the post with Cheryl's thoughts on motherhood:
"From the moment we found out I’m pregnant, I’ve come to experience God’s miracle and love, with every step of the way, from our baby’s conception, to his heartbeat and movements. Having this baby, nothing else matters more than this life growing inside of me, loving this life above yourself or anything else and wanting and giving the best for a person I’ve yet to meet. I feel motherhood is about teaching us to love and what love is and that great things happen when you least expect it, and so to trust in the Lord that he knows what’s best."
